Captain Debbie Alderson – Center for Worship & Service Corps

Serving as a Salvation Army officer for 14 years, Captain Debbie Alderson comes to Sarasota from Ocala, Florida. She has also served as a corps officer in
Amarillo,  Kerrville, Lubbock, Corpus Christ and Waco, Texas.

Captain Alderson, originally from West Virginia, received a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in early childhood education from
The University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. She taught second and fifth grades before she was called to be a Salvation Army Officer.
She is a third generation Salvation Army officer and loves working with children. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, baking and decorating cupcakes.

When asked what she desires for her service as she comes to Sarasota, she quickly stated
“I want to help the people in the community to the best of my ability and bring people to know Jesus.”

Captain Andy Bailey

Captain Andy Bailey was welcomed to the Center of Hope Corps in June, 2016. He has served as an active Salvation Army Officer for 8 years. His most recent assignment prior to coming to Sarasota was with The Salvation Army ALM (Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi) Division. The father of three daughters, he also spent 10 years working as a Salvation Army employee prior to becoming an officer. Captain Bailey attended the University of Alabama, Brownville Revival School of Ministry and graduated from FIRE School of Ministry with a degree in Practical Ministry. Captain Bailey has a heart for ministering to the homeless and says one of his joys of ministry is he "loves to see God's transforming hand in the lives of OTHERS as they draw closer to Him."
