About Us
Serving in Seminole County since 1933. Every day, 365 days a year, The Salvation Army of Salvation Army Seminole County is on the frontline providing relief and helping people who are experiencing difficulties. Many families find it a daily challenge to make ends meet. Particularly, in these unprecedented days of COVID-19, the struggle has intensified. Many are faced with job loss, depleted resources and food insecurity. Your contribution makes it possible for The Salvation Army to assist with some of those needs.
The Salvation Army continues to respond to the ever-increasing need by providing financial assistance for rent and utilities, providing food to families through daily food pantry operations and scheduled drive thru food box initiatives. Water, hygiene kits, paper supplies, food and care packages are distributed to assisted living facilities and other vulnerable members of the community.
Additionally, we provide hope in other practical ways such as companionship for the lonely and isolated and safety for victims of domestic abuse, human trafficking and modern slavery. Our Community Center runs weekly activities for children and young people, deprived families and older people.
People look to us for help on a daily basis, and it is only through the kindness and generosity of supporters like you that we can provide so many vitals services and have such a positive impact on so many lives in Seminole County. Thank you for helping us to DO THE MOST GOOD.

How does The Salvation Army manage such diverse programs and facilities?
Where do Salvation Army officers (clergy) gain the proficiency to raise sufficient funds, hire and train qualified staff, and purchase and maintain sophisticated buildings and equipment?
A major source of our strength comes from members of Salvation Army advisory organizations.
Advisory organization members are concerned men and women who voluntarily use their professional skills and knowledge of the community to make a practical difference for their neighbors, strengthening The Salvation Army’s ability to serve.
With commitment to excellence they dedicate themselves to increasing public awareness of The Salvation Army’s purpose and work; recruiting other volunteers and giving hands-on assistance for specific activities such as holiday dinners, hospital visitation and disaster relief.
They provide advice and guidance in areas such as budgeting, overseeing large-scale capital campaigns, creating outreach services, public relations and fundraising, management and personnel development, and building improvement and maintenance.
Their commitment to serving others unites them with like-minded professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds. This makes advisory organization members vital partners in Salvation Army ministry.

Caring Magazine, NewsIn a time when negativity surrounds us, it’s important to spread positivity and be the light for others who are struggling. These are some simple ways to do so in 2019:
1. Use social media for good Social media is a go-to time filler for many people. And while it helps bring us together, it also has broken many apart through messages of hate and negativity. Take the initiative to use social media for good — to spread uplifting stories, bring attention to charitable fundraisers and share messages of hope when people may need it the most.
2. Be available to listen and offer support There are times when all a person needs is to have someone there to listen. Be a listening ear for others to vent their frustrations and worries by motivating, encouraging and helping them through their difficult times.
3. Partake in random acts of kindness Challenge yourself to brighten the days of others with random acts of kindness each day — whether that’s paying for coffee for the next person in line a..
