“As supplies dwindle and an increase in demand rises during the holidays, we are seeking non-perishable canned or packaged food donations. We are concerned that we will not be able to help individuals arriving at our doors for food for Christmas,” said Naples Regional Coordinator Major Dan Proctor.
On average, The Salvation Army of Collier County provides assistance to approximately 2,000 people per month and spends approximately $20,000 per month in food, rent and utilities assistance.
The Salvation Army of Collier County is seeking the following non-perishable donations to stock their food pantry:
• Canned food, canned meats such as salmon, chicken and tuna
• Packaged rice and pasta
• Canned beans or dry-packaged beans
• Peanut Butter
• Cereal and oatmeal
• Baby Formula and canned baby food
• Evaporated, dry or shelf-stable milk
Any donations may be dropped-off at The Salvation Army Social Services Office located in Collier Business Park at 3050 Horseshoe Drive North in Naples from Monday – Friday, 9am-3pm.
If individuals, social groups, clubs, businesses, home owner associations and churches hold a food drive, they can contact The Salvation Army at 239-775-9447 to schedule a pick-up from locations in Collier County.
“We count on community support and donations to help continue our work in feeding the neediest families. Christmas is a time when we can provide hope for those faced with food insufficiency” Proctor said.
