Led by Mary Helen Keim and 18 other women, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary was founded in 2000 to support our local programs and services. Over the years, these dedicated women have raised more than $800,000 to help the Salvation Army serve the people in our area. They worked tirelessly for nearly 12 years to purchase, remodel and open our building here at 821 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Stuart to house a chapel for worship, administrative and social service offices, and Compassion House, our transitional shelter for homeless women and children.
Today these wonderful women continue to support Compassion House and all of our many programs through their fundraising efforts and volunteer time. Meetings are generally the third Tuesday of the month, September through May, at 11:30 am. Anyone can join! For more information, contact Membership Chair Elise Natoli at 772-781-0408.
