The ABC’s of DEAMS

Adult Ministries All programs and activities to do with discipleship and growth come under the DEAM department. Men’s Fellowship is the responsibility of the Divisional Secretary and Woman’s Ministry.

Bible Study Emphasis on The Work is foremost in the department and The Salvation Army. National Bible Week is emphasized each year.

Cartridge Reports Regular monthly reports are provided by the DEAMS. Stewardship is emphasized on an annual basis and encouraged in the corps.

Divisional Soldiers’ Inc (D-SINC) D-SINC stands for Divisional, Soldiers, Ideas, Needs and Concerns. The group is composed of soldiers from around the division and meets three times a year. The DEAMS also coordinates the Florida participation in the Territorial Group (T-SINC).

Evangelism Evangelism is a major component of DEAMS. The responsibilities include coordination, preparation, promotion and monitoring of Evangelistic Campaigns, the Territorial Evangelists and Approved Evangelists.

Holy Sport This is a soul-winner’s seminar that may be conducted in weekly Bible Study classes or conducted by the DEAMS when scheduled in the corps. It is conducted on a two, four or six hour sessions.

Time Management This was the theme of a recent seminar. Seminars are also available on “The Army of Time – Commitment to Leadership” through the DEAMS department.

Visit to Corps Any time the DEAMS can be of service by visits to the corps, a call is sufficient to make plans and schedule a visit. When there is a need and the officers must be away, either unexpected or by design, the DEAMS is willing and ready to help.

Wonderful Words of Life The USA Southern Territory produces the Wonderful Words of Life. These radio programs, along with Heartbeats, are available from Territorial Headquarters through the DEAMS department.

Youth Evangelistic Teams (E-Teams) Up until last summer, the DEAMS coordinated and trained youth who were involved on the E-Teams. Membership of E-Teams comes from each corps in Florida.

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:11-12
