When people come to The Salvation Army seeking emergency financial assistance, they receive an application to fill out. Included in the application is a voluntary questionnaire that includes just two questions.
Our ‘Brewing Hope’ series will give you insight on what assistance men, women, and children in need are seeking when they come through our doors, and what it means to them to receive a hand up and a sense of hope in their time of need.
What brings you to The Salvation Army for assistance? Help with our water/utility bill as we have had difficulty paying and keeping up with our bills since the layoffs at my wife’s job. We have fallen behind with only my income coming in.
What does receiving assistance from The Salvation Army mean to you? I am humble and very grateful that it is there, but only in a time of need because I would certainly like The Salvation Army to use their resources to help others before they help myself. They are a wonderful God-blessed organization, and have been since their foundation, and I always seek to donate back as well to them whenever I can at Christmas time or any time.
Thank you for supporting the programs and services of The Salvation Army, so we can help people like Peter find the hope they need to face another day.
