When people come to The Salvation Army seeking emergency financial assistance, they receive an application to fill out. Included in the application is a voluntary questionnaire that includes just two questions.
Our ‘Brewing Hope’ series will give you insight on what assistance men, women, and children in need are seeking when they come through our doors, and what it means to them to receive a hand up and a sense of hope in their time of need.
What brings you to The Salvation Army for assistance? I am desperately needing help for myself and husband. He is still waiting on his disability and isn’t doing well. Never have asked for help before as my husband worked up until his seizures and brain injury.
What does receiving assistance from The Salvation Army mean to you? It means we will be able to stay in our home while going through difficult times. It means I wouldn’t literally make myself sick with worry. I am on four breathing treatments a day. Thank you for any help you can provide – we truly appreciate it.
Thank you for supporting the programs and services of The Salvation Army, so we can help people like Mary find the hope they need to face another day.
